The Nebraska horse expo is over :[ fortunately it was just as awesome as I thought it would be!! Reily and his rider did amazing in their classes, even placing 4th out of 20+ riders in trail. Got to go shopping, and spent way too much! Anyways, to the pictures, which I apologize in advance for. My camera is broken so all I have is my phone, which I couldn't use a lot cause it kept dying.
Showmanship was first, Reily got called back from the first group (an amazing amount of horses, I wanna say 50 but that might be exaggerating), but not the second. They still looked pretty snazzy :]
Then there was trail, ridden and driven!
Love those drafts!
They even painted their hooves purple! So cute!
Reily backed the L like a pro :]
OWNED the bridge!
There's their pleasure, thought I would randomly stick that video in there
Waiting for their fourth place :]
This horse's head was HUGE.
And now the loot!
I'm honestly surprised I didn't buy more than this, but slightly proud.
Finally got some rolly spurs! AND they're pretty! AND on ubber sale :D
This shall go on my lil red car. I think it's perfect, a western paint :]
FINALLY got an English bit! Now for the English bridle...
And the grand finish, my amazing new belt!! It's soo sparkly I feel like I have a disco ball wrapped around me :] but that is for sure a good thing.
So that was my weekend, pretty amazing if I do say so myself. Time to go back to real life..... until the next show :D

Nebraska Horse Expo!
Soo this weekend (today to Sunday) is the Nebraska horse expo! I've never been to one before but I hear there's a ton to do and they're a lot of fun! Reily's gonna be there at the "Mane Challenge" which is a battle of breeds in a sort of way. I'm not riding, but some girls horse went lame right before the contest, and this is an expensive contest ($100's) so she's borrowing Reily! I'll try to upload some pictures tonight of Rei in his show gear. I'm super excited because they're clipping him (getting rid of the winter woolies! Yeah!), bathing, etc. so he should be looking good! :D
In case you're wondering here's the schedule with all the activities going on!

The Beginning
Hello! This blog is mainly about my horse, but I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Katie, I am a soon to be college student who has been riding around 7-8 years. I'm hoping to go into college for some sort of equine major, but that's a topic for another time.
Mr. Reily (show name Outta the Blue), a 15 year old Gray Paint/Pinto is a very special fellow, to me at least. I bought him two years ago, from a very nice elderly lady who couldn't ride him anymore do to his height (16.1 hands). She wasn't planning on selling him, but a good friend asked if she would to the right home, and she said yes after seeing us together. Reily and I have been through a lot together, and had many adventures :] When I first bought him, he was a pain to lunge (I have scars from the rope burn that literally sliced my hand open, several times, and I still remember the loud THUMP of falling on my back and being dragged twice around the arena), scary to ride out on a hack (held onto the saddle horn and hoped for the best!), liked to roam throughout the neighbors garden (and run when I came to catch him) and even once fractured my finger trying to run away (okay... that one was 100% my fault).

Now, while he has his moments, I luckily don't have any of the incidents like before to worry about. I've figured out how he works, and vice versa and I like to think we make quite the team. We still get to have our own adventures, though, and I try to make every day as exciting as possible. We show, mainly western, but dabble in English and attempt games. Trail riding happens to be our specialty, but we also like to mix things up and goof around. I like to try everything and anything with our riding and even groundwork. I love challenges and see them as a way to grow more in sync with horses.
Anyways, that's enough for one post, I've got to save something for my next one :] be sure to check out my friend Sarah's blog as well! Lacy My Horse
